Tomorrow my plane leaves the Philadelphia International asphalt at 7:45 AM and touches down in Denver at 10:07 AM Mountain Standard Time. I joined this program called Americorps NCCC. It's a super duper deal: They pay for my travel, my food, my housing, a small stipend and a decent-sized education award. In return I work in impoverished areas for 10 months. I'll be travelling to new areas about every 5 weeks. I'll recieve training in building stuff, fixing stuff and probably some other pretty manly areas. I'll probably get pretty tough and manly.
I got to say goodbye to a bunch of people Saturday night. They're cool. I don't want to disappear completely. Hank (Username: Dank; is heading to Denver's sister campus in Sacramento to serve during the same 10 months) and I decided it would be a good idea to write about our adventures in a blog called University of Bear. Please read our words and view our pictures. We love you all. And we want to kiss you.
